Jellyfish Ponds Spa and Shock Therapy – About Us

The statistics are startling. Nearly 4% of Americans under 30 suffer from some form of Antipathosis. That’s nearly 4 million of our best and brightest who experience, in some form, an incapacity to connect their own experiences with those of the world outside them. They do not, can not, feel or process emotions in the way their peers do. It’s a terrible way to go through life. Traditional mental health therapies can help, but it’s seldom enough.

We want to help. We want our young Americans to be more. Do more. To feel more.

At Jellyfish Ponds Spa, we are the only therapeutic spa in the world that offers both mental and physical treatment for Antipathosis. Traditional therapy is so helpful, but it is an incomplete treatment for this growing affliction. To truly help those in need, mental health therapy must be combined with our unique shock therapy.

Golden Ball Jellyfish are a strange breed. Like all jellyfish, they have stingers that trail below their body. Prey are stung, paralyzed, and drawn upward into the jellyfish for consumption. However, unlike so many other varieties of jellyfish, their stingers are non-reactive to humans. At least, that is how it seemed from the time of their discovery in the western lakes where they thrive. It would prove to be only partially true.

For those who suffer from Antipathosis, the stingers deliver a tangible reaction. For a group so used to feeling nothing or, on rare occasions, only disquiet and frustration, the Golden Ball Jellyfish sting is a lifeline to a healthier, fuller, emotional life. The active agent in their stingers is somehow, miraculously, coded to the same genetic information that passes Antipathosis from one parent’s recessive gene to a child’s dominant. Quite literally, the Jellyfish can sting the life back into our sick, unhappy young people.

When the sting’s reaction was discovered six years ago, it was thought to be a snake oil solution. Science took time to catch up to the knowledge locals had acquired through accident, trial and error. This past summer, the Spa hosted a team of researchers from Arizona State University, Durham University (UK) and the NIH to study the effect the jellyfish stings have on afflicted patients. No longer a strange idea for the desperate, our treatment course is now a recognized, proven solution to a growing and, let’s admit it, scary affliction for the most vulnerable of our country’s citizens.
